PGGB CEO Lyndsay Duthie to depart
Nov 26, 2024
After nearly 5 years at The Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB), CEO Lyndsay Duthie will take up a new role at the end of January 2025 as Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic Partnerships and Industry Engagement at University for the Creative Arts (UCA).
During her tenure at PGGB, Lyndsay launched many new initiatives, ensuring the Guild remains in step with broader changes in the film and television industry. She led on the formation of six PGGB Nations & Regions Committees, in line with British Film Commission’s Stage Space Support Development hub centres, to increase support for Members and Partners across the breadth of the UK and launched the organisation’s first Diversity and Inclusion Action Group and Sustainability Committee.
Lyndsay also secured PGGB’s first Royal Patron, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, and created an award bearing his name: The Duke of Edinburgh Film and TV Inclusion Award which is presented annually at PGGB’s Talent Showcase, in association with Walt Disney Studios. Lyndsay also oversaw an increase in business partners and training opportunities, including the £500k Talent Development Fund, helping to grow the Guild and ensure more resources and opportunities for PGGB members, who are at the heart of PGGB.
Commenting on this move, Lyndsay said: “It has been a huge honour to lead such a prestigious organisation with some of the world’s best production professionals in the film and television industry. I am so proud of all that has been achieved in partnership with PGGB’s stellar board. It is never an easy decision to leave something you are so passionate about, but I know that PGGB is in solid position to build on for the future, and I wish all the continued success to you all.”
Bianca Gavin, Head of Production at Pulse Films and Chair of the PGGB Board, said: “Under Lyndsay’s exceptional leadership, PGGB has been navigated through challenging periods, from pandemic to strikes, whilst continuing to grow our impact, partnerships and support for our membership. Lyndsay has built vital pillars including our Diversity and Sustainability Committees, our Royal Patronage and the Duke of Edinburgh Inclusion Award, the delivery of our Talent Development Fund, and the establishing our Nations & Regions hubs. We have a bright and secure future, able to look forward to fresh chapters ahead. On behalf of the board, members, partners and staff I extend heartfelt thanks to Lyndsay for her energy and dedication, wishing her every success in her exciting new role.”
