Molly Manning Walker joins Rogue

Mar 18, 2024

Rogue announce the arrival of the outstanding Molly Manning Walker to their roster.

A true, one-of-a kind directing talent, Molly’s work is always emotionally engaged and full of charm, sensitivity and realism.

Molly’s arrival at Rogue coincides with the launch of her debut commercial for TV, produced by Rogue’s very own Maddy Easton. The film for Amazon’s new pan-European UEFA Women’s Football brand campaign, centres around Molly’s passion – football – and is a celebration of the skill, spirit and sheer quality in the women’s game today.

Molly comments, “Women’s football means a huge amount to me – I’ve played my whole life and am madly passionate about it. To have the opportunity to translate that passion as a filmmaker and to transfer that authenticity to the screen was crucial to me and vital for our footballing community.”

Why Rogue for Molly? “To be honest it was never my intention to sign to a UK commercial production company because of my long-form ambitions, but I already knew Rogue’s brilliant producer Maddy Easton who I’d worked with as a cinematographer – and then I met Kate Taylor and it’s been a love story ever since. She is an inspiration, full of life, joy and kindness. I have a lot of respect for Kate and I know I am in incredibly safe hands at Rogue.

It seems my plan changed because of the legendary people I’ve been fortunate enough to meet along the way.”

Kate Taylor says: “Molly had her pick of London production companies for commercial representation, as you can imagine, and we’re so honoured that she’s chosen Rogue. At just 30 years old, she’s at the madly exciting start of a stellar career in film, which is a unique and precious position to be in. It’s something that she knows Rogue will protect, respect and unwaveringly support at all costs. I would normally say “I can’t wait to get started” but we are well underway, and it’s just wonderful. Not only is she an incredible filmmaking talent but is also a brilliant human being and really lovely to work with. She also happens to be just the right amount of bonkers and great fun to be around, which clearly makes her a Rogue – It’s a love story alright, through and through”.

As a Cinematographer, Molly has worked on an impressive slate of commercial projects with many directors and production companies, notably Rogue’s Lisa Gunning and Stacy Wall as well as a long-term collaboration with her good friend and director Billy Boyd Cape, for brands including Diesel, Amazon, Nike, Uber-Eats, NHS and Pride.

A multi award-winning Writer/Director and Cinematographer, Molly’s debut feature film How to Have Sex (2023) won the Un Certain Regard Award at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and the European Discovery – Prix FIPRESCI at the 36th European Film Awards. It also earned three nominations at the 77th British Academy Film Awards including Outstanding British Film and Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.
