May 21, 2025

London Film School (LFS) has announced the appointment of Helen Wright as its new chief operating officer (COO).

Helen joins LFS with a distinguished track record of leadership in the entertainment industry. Her appointment marks a significant step in LFS’s ongoing plan to align itself in partnership with the screen industries while delivering an outstanding student experience and expanding its offer and reach.

For the past decade Helen held the COO role at leading UK film and TV production company, Tiger Aspect Productions, whose credits during her tenure include Peaky Blinders, Ripper Street, Domina, Three Little Birds, The Good Karma Hospital, Mr Bean, Bad Education, Man Like Mobeen, Benidorm, and The Bad Education Movie.

Helen brings extensive skills and experience in strategic planning, organisational development, resource management and governance – all vital as LFS continues to expand and innovate, going into its 70th year. Helen has been a committed board member of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) since 2018, giving her great insight and experience of higher education in the creative sector.

“As COO, Helen will lead the School’s operational strategy, oversee core administrative functions, and work closely with the senior leadership team to support the School’s academic and creative mission” said Chris Auty, Director of LFS. “Helen brings with her a passion for innovation, and collaboration, with proven long-term results. I’m delighted she is joining the team to lead us after Rod Jones has skilfully filled the interim position.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining London Film School at such a pivotal moment in its evolution. LFS has a rich legacy of nurturing filmmakers from around the world, and I’m excited to help shape its next chapter – building on that heritage while expanding the School’s reach, relevance, and impact in today’s rapidly changing screen industries.”
