LianTronics assists AIE in new film and virtual production course
Feb 15, 2022
A course specialising in film and virtual production will be launched by AIE this month, featuring exclusive virtual production studios assembled by LianTronics high-end LED video walls.
As the pioneer educator, AIE (The Academy of Interactive Entertainment) trains numerous professionals working in the games, animation, and film VFX industry every year. With the announcement of film and virtual production courses scheduled to run in early 2022, AIE is developing Hollywood-grade LED volume virtual production studios of its own in different campuses in Australia.
The high-performance curved LED walls in AIE’s virtual studios, assembled by LianTronics upgraded Pilot 2.6 LED panels, have been integrated into the virtual sets to offer a fully-fledged atmosphere in immersion that meets AIE’s need for showcasing and teaching of virtual production and filmmaking.
An important part of the virtual production studios, the LED backdrops feature a 7680Hz high refresh rate, 144Hz frame rate, 16/22 Bit grayscale, 1500nits brightness, broad colour spectrum, and accurate colour restoration to deliver a stunning in-camera performance. “Realistic reflections and a natural light source generated by the LED backgrounds have eliminated many problems conventional green screens struggle with, granting true-to-content presentation and an immersive virtual world in real-time,” said Willie Liu, CEO of Liantronics.
“With an acute perception of the potential demand within the virtual production industry in this rapidly emerging technology, Liantronics has developed its best LED virtual studio display solution to cater for more market needs,” commented Liu. “We also conducted several xR relevant projects in Europe and America and therefore we have been developed xR visuals related products and technologies to fulfill the needs from our customers worldwide.”
As an integral part of the new course, these high-end immersive studios have made an early engagement with many learners and filmmakers to experience the cutting-edge virtual production techniques at first hand as AIE held up multiple open day activities in its different campuses ahead of last year.
“Collaborating with AIE grants Liantronics is not only authoritative recognition from the virtual production industry but also makes a profound impact in the field of education. And we believe the long-standing strategic partnership with AIE will uncover more possibilities for the upcoming generation of immersive content-creation and professionals,” added Liu.
