First Foot in the Door trainee becomes Mark Milsome Foundation trustee
Mar 7, 2022
The Foundation has announced the appointment of their most recent Trustee. Daisy Allen was the first ‘Foot In The Door’ Trainee to be selected in 2019.
Chairman Kirk Jones commented: “We have monitored Daisy’s progress since helping her establish contacts and employment in the industry in 2019 and were thrilled when she accepted an invitation to join the board. Daisy is perfectly placed to help oversee the development of the ‘Foot In The Door’ training and mentorship programme having experienced it herself first hand. We are already seeing early trainees supporting and mentoring students from more recent intakes and hope to see this level of support continue in the future.”

Health and Safety Course
The Foundation’s Online Safety Passport is now fully launched. The short courses come at a cost of £20 to help make the industry a safer place. The course is 90 minutes long and can be taken over a number of sessions. Upon completion, you can claim your Production Safety Passport through ScreenSkills which is valid for 5 years.
Those who have taken the certified course are already calling for it to become mandatory. Andra Milsome commented: “Mark would still be with us today if this course had existed in 2017. I strongly urge all crew and, very importantly, production, to take this course and make the industry a safer place. Do it for your families, for your colleagues and for Mark. This absolutely should become an industry standard”.
