New Everest short film reveals unprecedented aerial images.

DJI, the global leader in civilian drones and creative camera technology, and 8KRAW, a Chinese photography organisation with 1,000+ photographers contributing to its platform, have successfully launched and achieved the first drone shooting action on the summit of Mount Everest at 8848.86m.

The DJI Mavic 3’s light and small folding design made it possible to be carried to the top of the highest peak in the world and capture unprecedented aerial images with the flagship professional-grade 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad camera.

After successfully reaching the summit in the early morning of May 27th, the 8KRAW team photographers utilised the Mavic 3 to complete the creation of aerial shots at the summit of Mount Everest, close-up shots of the mountain, and views of the Himalayas with Mount Everest in the foreground. After nearly three months of rigorous creation, the Everest aerial short film “Flying over Everest” jointly produced by DJI and 8KRAW is officially launched.

Wang Yuanzong, the chief director of the film and founder of 8KRAW, said: “8KRAW continues to pursue the ultimate image. As early as three years ago, we began to try aerial photography of Mount Everest. It was the team’s long-cherished wish to fly a drone at the top and complete the leap shooting. The light and reliable Mavic 3 with the ultimate image and the warm weather conditions on the summit day finally came true, and I am very grateful to Mount Everest for accepting us and allowing us to see it from a new perspective.”
