Daniel Moore joins Atomos as chief technical officer

Atomos announces that Daniel Moore is joining the company as CTO.

Based in Melbourne, Moore will work closely with CEO and Co-Founder Jeromy Young to drive innovation in what is fast becoming an aggressive reboot of the Australian tech company in 2024. 

“I’m thrilled to be joining Atomos,” commented Daniel. “There’s so much we can do to enhance the existing products and we have some awesome ideas for future products.”  

Daniel brings a wealth of experience in software and hardware engineering, most recently as CTO of Presien, an award-winning Artificial Intelligence company. At Presien Daniel led the development of a real-time embedded machine learning vision system and cloud-based analytics platform to enhance safety in heavy Industry. He has held other CTO positions since an eight-year tenure as Director of Software Engineering at Blackmagic Design. 

Daniel started his Software Engineering career at Australia’s Governmental research organization – CSIRO – working on innovative technical R&D projects. He later spent time at Silicon Graphics (SGI), working on complex operating system level software for commercial supercomputers.  

Moore joined Blackmagic Design during its startup phase and grew the software engineering team from three to over fifty people, plus remote teams, and integrated IP from five corporate acquisitions over eight years. Daniel has led the development effort for over 20 products in the AV space, including video capture cards, developer API/SDK support, video converters, routers, monitors, scopes, solid-state disk recorders, professional colour grading, editing and VFX software, film scanning, cinema and video production cameras, live broadcast switchers, camera remote control, and many more.

Daniel will also lead co-operative development and technical partnerships with the world’s leading camera manufacturers and Silicon Valley innovators.”
