Cinema Audio Society opens awards submissions

Submissions are now being accepted for the 61st Annual Cinema Audio Society (CAS) Awards.

All entries must be received by 5 p.m. PT on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Additionally, applications for the CAS Student Recognition Award are due 5:00 pm PT on Monday, November 4, 2024.

The CAS Award nominees are uniquely chosen by sound mixers, recognizing excellence in the craft of sound mixing for film and television. This year’s awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

The CAS Awards seek to recognise sound excellence in:

Motion Pictures – Live Action
Motion Pictures – Animated
Motion Pictures – Documentary
Non-Theatrical Motion Pictures or Limited Series
Television Series – One Hour
Television Series – Half Hour
Television Non-Fiction, Variety or Music – Series or Specials

As previously announced, multi-award-winning sound mixer Tod A. Maitland CAS (West Side Story, JFK, A Complete Unknown) will be honoured with the CAS Career Achievement Award. The CAS Filmmaker of the Year honoree for 2025 will be announced later this year.
