Since its formation in 2016 CineArk has enjoyed a steady, organic growth of its equipment rental business, leading the market in DIT, video assist, transmitters and comms.
CineArk is now building on that success to launch a new facility in Dublin, Ireland.
With a management team comprising Will Rothschild (Video Operator, Dublin), Sean Leonard (DIT, Dublin) and Niall McDonald (Video Operator, Belfast), the new move comes in response to local demand from a host of big budget studio productions based out of Dublin and Belfast.
CineArk’s Dan Hartley (Strategic Director) was working on Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel back in 2021 and local crew on location in Ireland were impressed by the quality of CineArk’s engineering, support and services and this sparked the idea for a CineArk presence covering the whole of Ireland.
Commenting on this expansion, Hartley said: “Whilst the Irish and UK film industries are highly comparable there are nonetheless some unique differences, particularly in the sheer volume of location work around Dublin and the Wicklow area and in Northern Ireland. We’ve risen to the challenge and custom-designed equipment for our Dublin facility that is lightweight, portable and capable of quick deployment. We’ve also streamlined our DIT rigs and adapted our cases and trolleys to suit the terrain.”
Hartley is keen for productions to experience the same level of service that they’re accustomed to in London wherever they shoot across Europe as he explains “We’re expanding our provision to create a pan-European model. Dublin is a brilliant example of what can be achieved by working with highly talented local crew and creating synergies between our Ireland and UK operations.”
