Post production studio Cheat announces the addition of experienced senior colourist Jonny Tully to its roster.
Tully moves from Big Buoy/Tag Collective Arts and brings a decade of commercials, music videos and narrative experience to Cheat’s expanding team.
His naturalistic style has enabled him to work with brands such as Adidas, Net-A-Porter, Burberry, Lurpak, Nike, Staropramen and Toyota. A versatile and creative colourist with a wide ranging portfolio, Tully approaches every job with the same passion and enthusiasm; always pushing to bring out the best in the material whilst remaining respectful to the photography.
Tully’s promo work covers a diverse range of artists including Burna Boy, Stormzy, Arlo Parks, Bastille and Liam Gallagher. His work with DoP David Wright on ‘Inglorious’ for slowthai, which was shot digitally and printed to film, won a cinematography and colour grading award, firmly placing him as an innovative, highly-desirable colourist. His work has won awards at Kinsale and Thunderdance, and feature film The Last Tree was part of Sundance’s selection in 2019, opening its category.
Tully commented: “I’m delighted to be joining such a creative and exciting team that’s so passionate about colour. I’ve always been impressed by CHEAT’s dedication to invest in and push the latest technology across both long and short form projects and I’m excited to see where the company goes next with its innovative and ambitious approach to post.”
Cheat founder and senior colourist, Toby Tomkins, added: “I am honoured to have Jonny join the creative team at Cheat. I’ve been a fan of his artistic sensitivity to colour and attention to detail for many years. Jonny’s work is incredible and I can’t wait to see him use his talent and craft across all forms of motion picture here. I’m certain his warmth and character will be a lovely addition to the culture here and I look forward to working with him.”
