On 31 May 2021, the new Board of the Hungarian Society of Cinematographers (HSC) was formed. After Lajos Koltai, Balázs Sára, a Béla Balázs Prize winning cinematographer, was elected as the new president of the association.
Balázs Sára was born in 1962 in Budapest, Hungary, and graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 1986 with a degree in television and film directing, in the class of György Illés and Lajos Koltai. He is a founding member of the Hungarian Society of Cinematographers. He has worked in film and television productions and has risen through the ranks of the cinematography profession.
His filmography as a cinematographer includes six feature films, seven TV films, eleven documentaries and hundreds of television programmes. As a director, he has shot dozens of theatre broadcasts, portrait films, documentaries and magazine programmes. As of November 2020, he is the acting head of the Vilmos Zsigmond Institute of Motion Picture Arts at the University of Theatre and Film Arts.

Zoltán Oláh is a Karlovy Vary International Student Film Festival and Hungarian Nationality Film Festival award-winning cinematographer. Graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 1989, member of H.S.C. since 1994.
Péter Vajda was born in Budapest in 1970. In 1995 he graduated from the University of Silesia in Katowice with a degree in Film and TV Cinematography. He is an Aranyszem Award-winning cinematographer and a member of H.S.C. since 2010.
Operational committee
Zsolt László is an Aranyszem Award-winning cinematographer, member of H.S.C. since 2003. He has been working in the industry for three decades and has been the chief cinematographer for several successful shows, documentaries, video clips and image films.
Károly Markert is a Béla Balázs, Hungarian Filmszemle and Pulitzer Prize winning cinematographer and has been a member of H.S.C. since 2003.
Gábor Marosi has been a member of H.S.C. since 2010.
Zoltán Mayer Seven-time Aranyszem, Hungarian Filmszemle, Hungarian Klipszemle and Los Angeles Film Awards winning cinematographer, member of HSC since 2003.
András Nagy is an IMAGO, Hungarian Filmszemle, Aranyszem and Hungarian Film Award winning cinematographer, graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 1996, and has been a member of H.S.C. since 1999.
Tibor Nemes is a Aranyszem Award winning cinematographer-director, graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 1993, member of H.S.C. since 1996.
Róbert Máté Patócs (Patox), cinematographer, graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 2001, member of H.S.C. since 2010.
Endre Schwindl, cinematographer-director, graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 2001 and has been a member of H.S.C. since 2000. He has worked as a cinematographer for several documentaries and television productions. He is the founder-owner of Schwindl Ltd., which has been operating for 25 years.
