Natalie Kingston grew up in New Iberia, La., and recalls her childhood as “a whirlwind of creativity and storytelling.”
After earning a bachelor’s degree in mass communications at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, she landed a job at a local television station and commenced a crash course in production. Shooting local commercials and operating the camera for live-sports broadcasts led to work in the camera department on film productions, which eventually led to shooting shorts, documentaries and music videos.
She won an Emmy and received a Camerimage Golden Frog nomination for the series Black Bird (“Hand to Mouth”).
Her feature credits include Lost Bayou, Shapeless, The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided to Write about a Serial Killer and the upcoming Horsegirls.
Her music-video credits include “Break” by Julia Stone (featuring St. Vincent) and “You Should See Me in a Crown” and “Bitches Broken Hearts” by Billie Eilish. Her commercial work includes spots for Adidas, the NFL, Powerade and Team USA.
