Apply now for ScreenSkills and Talking Point’s virtual production industry session
Apr 16, 2021
Talking Point presents the course as part of the ongoing ‘Industry sessions, demystifying virtual production and pre-visualisation in film’.
Virtual production has quickly become an established part of the feature film production process. This session will provide an opportunity to see how it is implemented, the possibilities it creates and how it works effectively hand in hand with the traditional production processes.
The training addresses an industry skills shortage and is subsidised by ScreenSkills as an investment in the professional development of people working in the UK screen industries. It is an ideal overview for anyone looking to work with elements of virtual production or keen to get an insight into the pros and cons of doing so.
Clement Gharini has worked in the industry for over 20 years, moving from a successful career in camera (where his credits included Harry Potter, Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol) to visual effects (Ex Machina, Dredd) and now immersing himself in virtual production. Whilst teaching the Cinematography and 2D for VFX courses at Escape Studios, he is also a filmmaker with experience of using virtual production technologies.
The session will take a closer look at how Clement approaches storytelling using motion capture systems to enable the animation of characters inside 3D platforms such as Unreal Engine and how these techniques can be incorporated into drama productions.
To apply, visit the course page of Talking Point. The deadline for applying is Friday 16 April 2021.
