Applications are still open for the Pat Llewellyn Fund

Jul 19, 2022

Applications are still open for the Pat Llewellyn Fund – Women in Film and TV UK have a £40,000 pot to develop your factual ideas.

This year the fund is looking for on screen talent-led TV factual ideas and we will award four bursaries of £10,000 each. So, if you think you might have discovered the next Stacey Dooley, Louis Theroux or Yinka Bokinni then pitch it in 250 words to be in with a chance. In addition to the development funding we’ll also match you up with an industry mentor to develop your idea and help get you in front of the people that can make your idea happen.

Pat Llewellyn was one of Britain’s pioneering female producers – she was also multi-award winning and renowned for discovering new talent. During her career she discovered Jamie Oliver and christened him The Naked Chef, made Gordon Ramsay famous with Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, and launched the career of Mary Portas. To celebrate Pat’s Welsh roots and to encourage other women from Wales to follow in her footsteps, two places will be specifically awarded for women born or living in Wales or with a Welsh parent.

Get your ideas in by Friday 16 September, 17.00. You don’t have to be a member of WFTV to submit an idea. You can check out our event in the Catch Up Hub which details how to apply.
