AFC Awards announces 2026 winners – Sinners, American Primeval and more

The French Society of Cinematographers has announced the winners of the 2026 AFC Awards, celebrating excellence in cinematography.

Held on Tuesday 3 February at the Cabaret Sauvage in Paris, the winners were revealed by five figures from the french film industry.

Presented by Jean-Marie Dreujou, president of the AFC, and hosted by comedian Tristan Lopin, the ceremony saw Patrice Leconte, Artus, Sébastien Lifshitz, Romane Gueret and Baya Kasmi open the envelopes containing the winners’ names and present each of them with their award.

Among the winners were Oscar nominee Autumn Durald Arkapaw ASC for her inventive work on Sinners and Jacques Jouffret ASC for his lensing of Netflix’s gritty Western hit American Primeval

• Best Cinematography for a Fiction Feature Film:

• Best Cinematography for a Series (episode, pilot, or mini-series):
American Primeval – S1, Ep1, directed by Peter Berg, cinematography by Jacques Jouffret ASC

• Best Cinematography for a Documentary:
Raqqa, l’ombre de Daesh, directed by Hélène Lam Trong, cinematography by Bernard Jallet

• Best Cinematography for a First or Second Fiction Feature Film by a Cinematographer Residing in France

• Mise en Lumière Award
