CUBE Studio announce its partnership with BA Diversity Media and GenB TV to establish a new state-of-the-art virtual production facility in Manchester. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in bringing innovative storytelling and cutting-edge technology to Black British TV channels GenB TV and GenB Movies.

The new studio, set to officially open in late February 2025, will serve as a hub for producing world-class content, including news, live virtual studio shows, game shows, and chat shows. Combining CUBE Studio’s virtual production expertise with BA Diversity Media’s creative vision, the facility is poised to empower broadcasters, brands, production companies, and content creators from all backgrounds to bring their creative ideas to life using virtual production.

GenB TV, already a household name in Black British media, is available in the UK via platforms such as TalkTalk TV, ROKU, and Community Fibre, and globally in over 40 countries. The channels aim to amplify Black British voices and stories, continuing the legacy of impactful content like Top Boy and Supacell.

James Hakesley, Co-founder and CEO of CUBE Studio, commented: “We are thrilled to partner with BA Diversity Media and GenB TV to bring our virtual production expertise to Manchester. Since 2020, CUBE Studio has been pioneering virtual production in the UK, allowing creators to push boundaries and tell their stories in exciting new ways. This partnership represents an incredible opportunity to support Black British content creators and enhance storytelling through cutting-edge technology, all from a single, versatile location.”

Christopher Kenna, Founder and CEO of BA Diversity Media Inc. shared his vision: “Manchester is the motherland, and having established the company in New York and London, it felt like 2025 was the time to bring it home and build something special that the whole community can use to produce world-class content. Black British content is already renowned, with hits like ‘Top Boy’ and ‘Supacell’ on Netflix. We want to collaborate with leading production companies and talent to continue telling the stories of Black British society and bringing them to the world.”

To celebrate the studio’s launch, GenB TV will host the Manchester Cultural Upfronts at the end of January 2025. This event will bring together the northern media and advertising industries to showcase GenB TV’s innovative approach to Black British storytelling.
