New versatile ARRI Ensō Prime lenses bring quality to new markets

Oct 15, 2024

ARRI has introduced its new Ensō Prime lens series, aimed at corporate and commercial content creators, as well as emerging filmmakers. These small, portable lenses deliver high-quality images in various conditions and can be customised with Ensō Vintage Elements, allowing for different looks from a single lens set.

Combining German engineering with Japanese optics, the Ensō lenses reflect the Zen philosophy of simplicity and creativity. They feature impressive close focus capabilities, with a 1:4 magnification ratio, making them suitable for close-up shots, such as product and food photography.

Designed for reliability in diverse shooting environments, these lenses ensure engaging, well-controlled images regardless of lighting conditions. The core set offers consistent gear ring positions across 14 focal lengths, making it easy to swap lenses on set.

The Ensō Vintage Elements provide interchangeable optics that can be attached to the lenses, allowing filmmakers to adjust the visual style as needed. These elements come with encoded chips that communicate important metadata to cameras, enhancing workflow efficiency.

Overall, ARRI’s Ensō lenses are intended to support filmmakers at various stages of their careers, offering versatility and quality. The core set, which includes 18, 24, 32, 47, 75, and 105 mm lenses, is available for order and will begin shipping in November.
