BFI announces the launch of ScreenUK Industry

May 13, 2024

The BFI has announced the launch of ScreenUK Industry, a new B2B umbrella brand to promote the UK screen sector and support international engagement and collaboration with UK-wide talent and businesses. In line with the BFI’s Screen Culture 2033 strategy, the new brand embraces the full breadth of the screen industries across film, TV, animation, documentary, games and XR & Immersive.

ScreenUK Industry, designed to showcase the UK’s creative excellence to the world, represents the range of industry partners and stakeholders which work together to promote the screen sector. Launching as a year-round platform and digital campaign, alongside a physical presence at key international festivals and markets, ScreenUK Industry aims to be a space for the UK screen sector to promote its work internationally, and the place the international industry turns to, in order to find out how best to collaborate with the UK.

The ScreenUK Industry platform has been developed as a destination and reference source for accessing information and resources across the UK screen sector. The curated platform showcases the UK’s presence at international festivals and markets, also aggregating key content from partners and stakeholders to present the UK’s outstanding production services, talent and locations.  In addition, the platform signposts to current opportunities, including funding, delegations, international training labs and co-production markets, with functionality built in to enable filtering by specific sector.

ScreenUK Industry will unveil the physical application of its new visual identity for the first time at Cannes Film Festival next week. Presenting a rebranded UK Pavilion in the Cannes Marché International Village, ScreenUK Industry will deliver a programme of events, including Talent Talks with Official Selection filmmakers and talent, as well as leading international and UK industry speakers. The UK Pavilion will also offer a meeting space for delegates, a terrace and a range of information resources about working with the UK.

Denitsa Yordanova, Head of International Funds and UK Global Screen Fund said: “The launch of ScreenUK Industry marks an exciting opportunity for championing the UK in the international marketplace. By working together with our much-valued partners, spanning the breadth of the screen sector and across all four nations, we are proud to present a cohesive offer which demonstrates our collective creative excellence as well as our appetite for deeper engagement with the international screen industry. We look forward to showcasing the best of the UK and to forging new collaborations and meaningful global partnerships over the years to come.”
