Zurich Film Festival has revealed the high-profile guests that will appear to present their latest films in person, as well as those who will receive awards during the event.

Alongside the previously announced Dakota Johnson, Claire Foy will also be honoured with a Golden Eye, while Russell Crowe will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for his work.

Swiss producer Anne Walser will also be presented with the Career Achievement Award, with other special guests including Colin Farrell, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alexander Skarsgård, Anthony Mackie, Wagner Moura and Dylan O’Brien.

Christian Jungen, director of the Zurich Film Festival, said: “With the ZFF, we want to celebrate cinema and ensure that the seventh art once again becomes a major topic in the media.

“We are delighted that this year, too, numerous world stars are coming to Zurich to personally present their works to the audience.

“More than a third of the 114 films in the programme are world or European Premieres–we have never had such a high proportion. This shows that producers have a high level of confidence in our festival and are using it in particular to add prestige to their works for the awards season, thus laying the foundation for a successful cinema release in the German-speaking world, which, with 100 million people, is one of the most important markets for Hollywood.”

Further guests include James McAvoy, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Anke Engelke, Matthias Schweighöfer, Christian Petzold, Marco Odermatt, Ella Rumpf, and–for the third time in a row–Edward Berger.

Meanwhile, ZFF recently confirmed that it will honour Oscar-nominated filmmaker Noah Baumbach with an A Tribute to … Award for his “outstanding body of work”.

The festival takes place between 25 September and 5 October.
