In TV drama Michal Sobocinski PSC has been in shooting The Serpent Queen. David Liddell has been lighting the “Blue Unit” on Band of Spies in Hungary and Malta. Rasmus Arrildt DFF took an unnamed Danish drama after he finished A Thousand Blows where Gabi Norland has also been operating. Tom Hines started his block of Beyond Paradise after some Midsomer Murders. Andrew Johnson has been back at Casualty. Nic Lawson has been shooting Vigil. Bebe Dierken BVK returned to Germany to shoot the Iraq War drama The Second Attack.

Graham Boonzaaier has started shooting a UK TV eight-part series in Italy for Ricochet, World’s Most Dangerous Roads (dir. Sean McDonnell). Alasdair K Boyce has just finished shooting Shetland S8 as director of photography for Block 2 for ITV Studios (Silverprint Pictures) for BBC1 (dir. Giulia Gandini) in Glasgow and Shetland. Sebastian Cort recently wrapped shooting an untitled music documentary with director Toby L. The documentary is an Up The Game production, produced by Josh Connolly, with production assistance from Katie Cooper. Prior to this Cort shot a comedy, crime, drama, feature film and did the cinematography for Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire (dir. Michael Head). Tom Doran is shooting a three-part Mindhouse drama-documentary, 2nd unit and B-roll camera (series dir. Liza Williams and dir. Tash Gaunt). Keith Gubbins recently shot Lewis Capaldi music video “Wish You The Best” (dir. Jim Wilmot), produced by Amelia Studios. Magda Kowalczyk has started filming a documentary that’s in development (dir. Waad Al-Kateab/Docsville).
Jack Mealing has been operating C-camera on Paramount miniseries Knuckles (cin. Brandon Trost, dir. Jeff Fowler). Tamás Apor Meder shot film The Bull in Belgium with director Victor Nauwynck and has started prep on short Praeis (dir. Dovydas Draksas) in Lithuania. Samira Oberberg has been doing additional photography for feature documentary My Extinction (dir. David Proud and Paul Viragh), produced by Lindsey Dryden, co-produced by Samantha Steele and supported by the BFI Doc Society Fund. It explores the scientific future of disability. Annette Remler has finished shooting an untitled music documentary as 2nd unit DP with director Toby. The documentary is an Up The Game production, produced by Josh Connolly, with production assistance from Katie Cooper.
Candida Richardson is collaborating with artist/director and filmmaker Caitlin Yardley and is shooting the second part of her most recent film, Aalto and Woolf. Richardson recently collaborated with other female DPs to shoot a one-off theatre performance piece The Second Woman (working title) at the Young Vic, and is also continuing to shoot a dance installation piece with William Bracewell, “States of Being in a Small Space”, commissioned by Clare Farrow Studio and filmed at the Royal Opera House. Robert Shacklady has been shooting as 2nd unit DP on Sherwood S2 (dir. Clio Barnard/House Productions).

Son of the Century, a Mussolini biopic, at Cinecittà studios in Rome with director Joe Wright and DP Seamus McGarvey BSC ASC ISC. This is an eight-part series for Sky Studios. Joe Russell ACO, camera and Steadicam operator, is still in Spain filming A camera and Steadicam on Andor S2 with DPs Christophe Nuyens SBC, Mark Patten BSC and Damián Garcia, and directors Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz and Alonso Ruizpalacios. DP Diego Rodriguez is currently filming a feature film for Astronaut Films about Jamaican women’s soccer team The Reggae Girlz, with director Sharmeen Obaid Shinoy. He is also filming Poised, a feature-length documentary about Steven France, ex-MMA champion, directed by Toby Robson for Two Yanks and a Brit UK. BSC GBCT ACO, camera and Steadicam operator, has been shooting the Tim Burton feature Beetlejuice 2 with DP Haris Zambarloukos BSC GSC, starring Michael Keaton, Monica Bellucci and Jenna Ortega. Also recently he has been working on the feature Speak No Evil with James McAvoy and Mackenzie Davis for director James Watkins and DP Tim Maurice-Jones BSC. Peter Wignall ACO, camera and Steadicam operator, has just finished shooting in London and Turkey as A Camera/Steadicam operator on The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Guy Ritchie’s new World War II drama feature for Jerry Bruckheimer Films, with DP Ed Wild BSC. The Characters
Among other projects Toby Gorman has been shooting the noir thriller Deadly Midwife for streaming service Tubi. Gorman was tasked with bringing a heightened stylisation to bring out the tension between an expectant mother and her new midwife, under the guiding hand of her increasingly suspicious husband.
Vision Artists
Anna MacDonald’s feature documentary Asog premiered at the Marché Du Film at Cannes Film Festival as well as screening at Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The unique docu-drama hybrid was directed by Sean Devlin and executive produced by Adam McKay and Alan Cumming, and follows Rey, a non-binary Filipino school teacher, on a road trip to compete in a drag pageant. Nick Morris has begun prep on Sweetpea with See-Saw Films. Directed by Ella Jones, the series is based on the ‘serial killer with a twist’ book from C.J. Kuse. Benedict Spence BSC is currently grading new Netflix series Eric with Benedict Cumberbatch. The series is produced by Sister Pictures and directed by Ben’s long term collaborator Lucy Forbes. Jaime Feliu-Torres is grading the tests for BFI feature film Free. Directed by David Alexander and produced by Yaw Basoah for Dark Pictures.
Jonas Mortensen shot the TV special of Merman’s There She Goes starring David Tennant and directed by Toby Trackman. In addition, Mortensen has also been shooting an exciting comedy pilot with Catherine Morshead at Fudge Park. Kia Fern Little shot short film Good Vibes Only. The story follows an affable radio DJ who after his friend dies by suicide, broadcasts a show in his memory. The short was produced by Milo Beyts through Primary Colour Pictures and directed by Christopher Rogers. Will Hanke has now wrapped a new comedy pilot for Avalon Television, produced by Avalon for the BBC and directed by Alice Sneddon. Lorena Pagès saw the release of her 2nd unit work on The Greatest Days. The Take That inspired musical was directed by Coky Giedroyc and is now released theatrically worldwide. Stephen Dunn saw the release of short documentary Out There on online platform Nowness. The pieces focuses on the real stories and testimony of youths who were used and trafficked as part of county lines drug gangs.
Courtney Bennett premiered his short music film Dirt in the Diamond at Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The Renee Maria Osubu-directed film was produced by Somesuch and nominated for the Tribeca X Award. Eoin McLoughlin’s short film Two for the Road won best short and best cinematography at Galway Film Festival, directed by Locky McKenna and produced by Screen Ireland. Ryan Eddleston has been shooting 2nd unit on the new series of Doctor Who in Wales. Rhys Warren has been part of a longform documentary for Britpop band Blur, directed by Simon Lane. Arthur Loveday has been shooting sports content for Adidas. Ian Murray has been lighting promos for Raye with Otis Dominique at Kode Films. James Watson has been working with VCCP spots for Tango, with regular collaborator Ben Tonge. Jim Jolliffe has been lighting for Rogue Films and Max Fisher on a piece for the Royal Marines. Jack Wilkinson has been shooting Coop spots with Charlotte Regan. James Blann teamed up with Hauke Hilberg again to shoot for Czar films in Germany. Luke C. Harper has been shooting sports promo for Riff Raff Films. Moritz Moessinger has been lighting gin commercials for Mert Alas with January Productions. Luke Scott reteamed with advertising partners Hogarth to shoot content for Soap and Glory. Martin Hill continues to shoot food and supermarket pieces for Rattling Stick. Spike Morris has been lensing fashion spots for LuluLemon and Hugo Boss and Tim Fok has been lighting a range of food with Greenroom and Agile.
