
MARS Academy has announced that applications are now open for its new course: Introduction to Becoming a VP Supervisor.
The course offers the chance to gain “in-depth and rare experience in the VP supervisor role”, with participants “learning from the best as they future-proof their career by entering the fast-growing world of virtual production”, MARS revealed.
This training is fully funded by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK TV productions and by the ScreenSkills Film Skills Fund with contributions from UK film productions.
Over three immersive days, participants will dive deep into the role of a VP supervisor, gaining a thorough understanding of the VP Supervisor Core Competencies Charter – created in collaboration with MARS Volume and experienced VP supervisors.
These days will offer the opportunity to learn the “critical mix of technical expertise, production and leadership skills needed to confidently take the wheel of a successful virtual production shoot”.
The course is built around hands-on experience on a real volume, the shadowing of world-renowned VP supervisors, and the chance to put skills into action in an immersive live virtual production shoot.
It is aimed at freelancers in high-end TV and film in the UK with five or more credits. Specifically, those working in physical production – technical, VFX or post freelance HODs, working in high-end TV and film in the UK.
Course session dates and times are available below:
- Wednesday 2 November, 5-8pm – Online via Zoom
- Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November, 9am-5pm – In person at MyWorld Bristol
