Godox has announced the launch of the Knowled MG4KR, a full-colour COB fixture engineered to deliver high output, stunning colourful illumination and precise control for film, commercial and studio production.
Bringing 4K HMI-level white-light performance into a compact and versatile design, the MG4KR extends the Knowled line-up with a solution “tailored for demanding lighting environments”, Godox said.
At 5600K with the MGR20 reflector, the MG4KR reaches 225,100 lux at three metres and 24,600 lux in red, while maintaining stable operation through its improved cooling system and compatibility with the G-mount ecosystem.
The MG4KR delivers high-intensity colour across all channels, providing reliable and accurate reproduction of red, green and blue tones.
At three metres with the MGR20 reflector, it achieves 24,600 lux in red, 40,500 lux in green and 13,400 in blue, ensuring consistent saturation and even illumination across the full spectrum.
Covering 91% of the Rec. 2020 colour space, the MG4KR provides a wide palette for cinematic colour reproduction.
Its 1,800K to 10,000K CCT range, combined with a ±100% green-magenta shift, allows filmmakers to match ambient lighting, refine skin tones, and create specific atmospheres with precision.
The MG4KR also reportedly delivers white-light brightness comparable to leading bi-colour COB units in its category.
Using a high-efficiency optical engine, it achieves 225,100 lux at three metres (@5600K, MGR20) while consuming 3,100W, aligning with 4K HMI-class output and optimising energy usage.
With a native 110-degree beam angle, the MG4KR offers broad and even illumination that helps maintain uniform exposure across larger surfaces or diffuse environments, too.
This wide distribution supports soft fill lighting, reflective set-ups, and scenarios requiring minimal hotspots, providing a consistent foundation that can be further refined with optical modifiers.

An upgraded heat dissipation system improves cooling efficiency by 60%, enabling the MG4KR to sustain full output over extended periods while minimising heat build-up.
This advancement is said to contribute to long-term reliability, stable performance and reduced maintenance requirements during continuous operation.
Built with professional workflows in mind, the MG4KR offers accurate colour reproduction, 0.1% dimming precision and multiple operation modes.
The Smooth Mode provides gradual dimming transitions, and High-Speed Mode ensures flicker-free performance at any frame rate, supporting both standard and high-speed cinematography.
Finally, the MG4KR supports DMX, CRMX, Ethernet, onboard and app control, carries an IP65 rating for reliable outdoor use, and is fully compatible with the G-mount ecosystem, allowing accessories to be shared across MG series models for flexible, professional workflows.
