EnergaCAMERIMAGE Festival to present Liz Garbus with Outstanding Achievements award

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Liz Garbus will be presented with the Award for Outstanding Achievements in Documentary Filmmaking at this year’s EnergaCAMERIMAGE Festival

Garbus will accept the award in person during the festival, providing attendees with a “unique opportunity to meet an artist who is shaping the face of contemporary documentary film”.

Garbus’ latest projects include a range of acclaimed true crime series, praised for their victim-centric approach – including Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer, which debuted at the top of the Netflix US Series Chart, and One Night in Idaho for Prime Video.

Previously, her work on What Happened, Miss Simone? and The Farm: Angola, USA saw her receive nods at the 2016 and 1999 Academy Awards respectively. 

Further to this, Garbus has received two Primetime Emmy Award wins and a total of seven overall nominations, two BAFTA Award nominations, two Film Independent Spirit Award nominations, seven International Documentary Association nominations and a Directors Guild of America nomination, among other major accolades.

The Award for Outstanding Achievements in Documentary Filmmaking and a meeting with Garbus will take place during the 33rd edition of the EnergaCAMERIMAGE Festival, will be held in Kujawy Pomorze Region, Toruń, from 15-22 November.
