Aputure has introduced the latest additions to the NOVA ecosystem: two new NOVA panel fixtures, plus new accessories designed for seamless integration.
The NOVA 9° 2×1 is a powerful hyper-narrow beam panel ideal for a concentrated light over a long distance, while the NOVA II 1×1 is a portable panel more powerful than most 2×1 units when used both direct and diffused.
Key details on the additions – provided by Aputure – are available below.
NOVA 9° 2×1

The NOVA 9° 2×1 is a hyper-narrow beam panel built for long throws and precise control. Powered by the new Extended BLAIR light engine, it delivers tunable white light from 1,800–20,000K with full ASC MITC ± Green adjustment.
Indigo emitters enhance naturally fluorescing materials, while Extended Red emitters enrich skin tones.
At five metres, it delivers twice the output of a 5,000W tungsten Fresnel at full spot – and is fully compatible with all NOVA II 2×1 accessories.
For maximum output and long-throw applications, the NOVA 9° 2×1 is also available as a 3-Light Kit, combining three panels into a single yoke to create powerful, sunlight-like beams.
NOVA II 1×1

The new NOVA II 1×1 brings the proven BLAIR-CG light engine into a compact 1×1 form factor, offering tunable white and wide-gamut colour with more output than most 2×1 panels.
A unique “focus-then-blend” optical design delivers a bright, clean 35° beam that remains efficient when diffused, with no visible colour fringing.
New accessories
New 1×1 accessories join the NOVA ecosystem, matching their 2×1 counterparts and featuring the front-loading QuickClip system for fast attachment and stacking.
- The NOVA 2×1 3-Light Yoke Kit supplies yoke and cables for mounting three NOVA II 2×1 or NOVA 9° 2×1 panels in an array for use as a single, powerful light source.
- The NOVA 1×1 Softbox is a QuickClip diffusion modifier designed to set up in seconds.
- The NOVA 1×1 Dome Diffuser is a QuickClip omnidirectional modifier whose design produces a more diffuse light than the flat diffuser included with the NOVA II 2×1. The Dome Diffuser is available with either heavy or light frost.
- The NOVA 1×1 Fabric Control Grid is a QuickClip light control modifier that slips onto the front of the NOVA II 1×1 to reduce off-axis spill from the fixture.
- The NOVA 1×1 Barn Doors is a QuickClip light shaping modifier for the NOVA II 1×1.
- The NOVA 1×1 Rolling Hard Case is a protective case designed to hold the NOVA II 1×1 along with included accessories.
Softboxes and Fabric Control Grids were developed in collaboration with DoPchoice.
“With the new NOVAs, Aputure has reinvented the panel light,” explained Mitch Gross, Aputure’s global director of marketing.
“Last year, we introduced the NOVA II 2×1, the most powerful 2×1 panel with the greatest range of colour, and the ability to be powerful in both narrow and wide beams.
“Now the NOVA II 1×1 offers the same colour performance in a more portable form factor with more output than most 2×1 panels. And the NOVA 9° 2×1 is a completely new concept, with a hyper-narrow beam powerful enough to replicate direct sunlight over long throws.
“Stack three of them in our new 3-Light yoke, and you can even use it outside in daylight, all while running off a single household circuit.”
The NOVA II 9° 2×1 has a €3,120 MSRP (excluding VAT) without a case and a €3,380 MSRP (excluding VAT) with a rolling hard case.
Meanwhile, the NOVA II 1×1 has a €2,290 MSRP (excluding VAT) without a case and a €2,390 MSRP (excluding VAT) with a rolling hard case.
