âThis summer we are thrilled to welcome so many industry legends and renowned artists to the Academy Museum to share their stories and wisdom with our audiences,â said director and president of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection, Amy Homma.Â
âBy offering a diverse array of screenings in rare formats, opportunities to hear from esteemed filmmakers, and family-friendly workshops, we hope to provide something for everyone to enjoy this season.â
“40 years ago, I designed the visuals of Manhunter to put audiences inside a state of mind,â said writer and director Michael Mann.
âToday, we’ve carefully remastered the film to vividly deliver all the mood and intensity of those images â all heightened with 5.1 surround sound audio sourced from the original 35mm masters.Â
âUnveiling this new version at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, in a theatre worthy of the care and craftsmanship behind it, is exactly how this film was meant to be experienced.”
“I am thrilled to rock the Academy Museum this summer by bringing our popular film plus concert experience to the Los Angeles community,â revealed filmmaker Robert Rodriguez.Â
âTo share two of my favourite films both cinematically and musically at the museum is a dream come true.â
“The Academy Museum is the premier destination for all things film â which includes the craft of makeup,” said Academy Award-winning makeup artist Ve Neill.
“I’ve learned a lot throughout my career, and I am looking forward to sharing insights and diving deeper into the process of creating characters with museum audiences.”
