EnergaCAMERIMAGE reveal 2024 winners

Polish-born cinematographer Michal Dymek has won the Golden Frog at this year’s Camerimage Film Festival.

Dymek was handed the award this evening at the festival’s closing ceremony by the Camerimage competition jury, which was headed by Cate Blanchett. She was joined by Anna Higgs, Sandy Powell, Anthony Dod Mantle BSC, Rodrigo Prieto ASC AMC, Lukasz Zal PSC, and Jolanta Dylewska.

Directed by Magnus von Horn, The Girl with the Needle debuted at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and has been selected as Denmark’s submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the Oscars.

In the special awards, the Lifetime Achievement award went to Ed Lachman ASC, the special award for production designer was given to Nathan Crowley and the award for film editor was given to William Goldenberg.

Jury of the International Federations of Film Critics Award for Best Film goes to The Devil’s Bath, cinematography by MARTIN GSCHLACHT, directed by Veronika Franz, Severin Fiala.

Golden Frog in the Cinematographers’ Debuts Competition goes to TODD MARTIN for Tatami directed by Zar Amir Ebrahimi, Guy Nattiv.

Golden Frog in the Directors’ Debuts Competition goes to SANDHYA SURI for Santosh.

Grand Prix Documentary Features Competition – Golden Frog goes to cinematographer ELIZABETH LO for Mistress Dispeller, directed by ELIZABETH LO.

Grand Prix Documentary Shorts Competition – Golden Frog goes to cinematographer J. DANIEL ZÚÑIGA for Shotplayer, directed by Sam Shainberg.

Grand Prix Music Videos Competition – Taylor Swift – Fortnight (Feat. Post Malone) directed by TAYLOR SWIFT. Golden Frog goes to: RODRIGO PRIETO.

Grand Prix TV Series Competition – Golden Frog goes to cinematographer ROBERT ELSWIT for Ripley: A Hard Man to Find, directed by Steven Zaillian.

Grand Prix Polish Films Competition – Golden Frog goes to PIOTR SOBOCIŃSKI JR for Scarborn, directed by: PAWEŁ MAŚLONA.

The Golden Tadpole Award goes to cinematographer TIN BRENDEL from Łódź Film School for Orchid directed by TIN BRENDEL.

The Silver Tadpole Award goes to cinematographer DANIEL LE HAI from Krzystof Kieslowski Film School for I am Not Here directed by DANIEL LE HAI.

The Bronze Tadpole Award goes to cinematographer LISA JILG from Filmakademie Baden-Wittenberg for Titans directed by JANNIK WEIßE.
