29th La Cinef Selection winners announced at Festival de Cannes

The winners of the 29th La Cinef Selection have been announced at Cannes Film Festival.

The Short Films and La Cinef Jury, presided by Carla Simón and comprised of Ali Asgari, Salim Kechiouche, Ji-Min Park and Magnus von Horn, awarded the 2026 La Cinef Prizes during a ceremony held in Buñuel Theater, followed by a screening of the winning films.

First Prize LASER-GATO (Laser-Cat) directed by Lucas Acher NYU, USA

Second Prize SILENT VOICES directed by Nadine Misong Jin Columbia University, USA

Joint Third Prize ALDRIG NOK (Never Enough) directed by Julius Lagoutte Larsen La Fémis, France

Joint Third Prize GROWING STONES, FLYING PAPERS directed by Roozbeh Gezerseh & Soraya Shamsi Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, Germany

Awards The Festival de Cannes allocates a €15,000 grant for the First Prize, €11,000 for the Second and €7,500 for the Third.
