
Cinematographers Johanna Coelho and Sandra Valde-Hansen ASC LPS will receive special awards at the International Cinematographers Guild’s Emerging Cinematographer Awards.
The ICG has announced that Johanna Coelho will accept the Distinguished Filmmaker Award, presented by Panavision, Family of Companies, at the 27th edition of the event.
Meanwhile, Sandra Valde-Hansen ASC LPS will be honoured with the ASC Mentor Award.
Steven Poster ASC, chair of the ECA committee, and Eduardo Fierro SVC, co-chair, said: “Our Distinguished Filmmaker and ASC Mentor awards winners represent the best of today’s craft behind the camera.
“We’re all coming together to celebrate the next generation of cinematography, and we couldn’t be more thrilled and proud.”
The ECA honourees will be celebrated with both an awards event on Sunday 28 September and a luncheon at the ASC Clubhouse on Friday 26 September.
Stephen Lighthill ASC will present the ASC Mentor Award to Valde-Hansen during the luncheon, while Coelho will receive the Distinguished Filmmaker Award during the ECA showcase event two days later.
Coelho is currently shooting season 2 of HBO Max series The Pitt, having previously worked on The Rookie and All Happy Families.
Meanwhile, Valde-Hansen’s notable credits include The Summer I Turned Pretty and Plan B.
In addition to the special awards, ICG announced eight honourees earlier this summer.
The eight winning filmmakers, selected from 100 submissions, are:
