A new international initiative dedicated to “supporting and amplifying inspirational cinema” was officially launched at the Marché du Film during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
Named the True Spark Alliance, the initiative “brings together film festivals, filmmakers, production companies, distributors and other industry partners committed to increasing the visibility and international reach of films that uplift, empower and inspire positive change”.
The Alliance was introduced on the Main Stage at the Marché du Film through London Rolling Film Festival‘s official partnership with Yes She Cannes, presenting the initiative to an international audience of filmmakers, producers, distributors, festival executives, investors and other film industry professionals.
Rather than operating as a traditional festival partnership, the True Spark Alliance is designed as a collaborative ecosystem connecting organisations that share a commitment to inspirational storytelling.
The initiative seeks to create new opportunities for films to reach audiences through collaboration across exhibition, production, distribution, education and audience development.
The Alliance welcomes collaboration with film festivals, production companies, distributors, brands, philanthropists, educators and industry organisations that “believe in the power of storytelling to create meaningful positive impact”.
Additional announcements regarding participating organisations and future initiatives are expected in the coming months.
The True Spark Alliance was developed by the London Rolling Film Festival as part of its “broader commitment to supporting independent filmmakers and creating new pathways for films that leave audiences with renewed hope, resilience and a stronger sense of possibility”.
