Submissions are now open for the 2026 edition of SET Film Festival, an independent grassroots platform for contemporary, artist and archival film, run by SET, a London-based contemporary arts organisation and registered charity.

Founded in 2023 and curated by Amina Ali, Ellie Dobbs and Verity Monroe, the festival presents “experimental practices and emerging voices outside conventional exhibition and distribution contexts”.

Held every November, the festival presents a month-long programme of themed weekly film nights, bringing together curated short film screenings, a feature presentation, and free archive film and performance night.

Now in its fourth year, filmmakers and artists from around the world are invited to submit short films across all genres, including animation, documentary, drama, experimental cinema, essay film and artists’ moving image.

Submissions are free and open internationally. Films must be under 30 minutes in length and completed after 1 January 2023. One submission per artist.

Screenings will take place from 5 November to 3 December at the charity’s arts and social club, SET Social in Peckham, London.

The deadline is Sunday 7 June at 23:59pm (BST) – more information is available on the SET Film Festival website.
