Picturehouse Create has unveiled two additions to its 2026 programme, with a preview film screening and a headline speaker added to its days of events at Picturehouse Central this April.

Charlie Brooker, multi-BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning writer and executive producer, will join the festival for an ‘in conversation’ event on 16 April, celebrating his work on Netflix’s Black Mirror

“Eulogy”, an episode from the show’s seventh season starring Paul Giamatti and co-written by Ella Road, will have a rare screening, followed by a discussion with Brooker.

Meanwhile, Finding Emily (cin. Rachel Clark BSC) comes to the festival for a special preview screening on 18 April, alongside a Q&A with director Alicia MacDonald and producer Olivier Kaempfer.

The Manchester-set romantic comedy follows a lovesick musician (Spike Fearn) who’s given the wrong number for his dream girl. He teams up with a driven psychology student (Angourie Rice) to find her, sparking a “hilarious campus-wide frenzy that tests their own hearts and ambitions”.

Produced by Working Title Films in association with Parkville Pictures, the film will be released by Universal Pictures on 22 May.

Previously announced film highlights include an opening night screening of Rebuilding (cin. Alfonso Herrera Salcedo), with director Max Walker-Silverman in attendance; a closing night screening of Rose of Nevada with director Mark Jenkin and producer Denzil Monk in conversation with filmmaker Ben Sharrock; a fifth anniversary screening of Prano Bailey-Bond’s Censor (cin. Annika Summerson BSC) as part of a day celebrating the horror genre; and a celebration of God’s Own Country (cin. Joshua James Richards) with filmmaker Francis Lee in attendance.

Industry leaders and talent continue to be added to the programme, including a panel of producers featuring Andrew MacDonald (Trainspotting, 28 Years Later), Tobi Kyeremateng (Pillion, H Is for Hawk) and talent from My Father’s Shadow (cin. Jermaine Edwards).

Warner Bros. Discovery Access and CrewHQ will also present a panel of alumni discussing their first day on a HETV or film production.

As part of a horror-themed Friday, director Corin Hardy (The Nun, Gangs of London) will present a masterclass, ‘Crafting The Scare’, concentrating on the craft of making horror movies.

Picturehouse will also have its signature brunches with industry leaders, speed meetings with talent agents, an opportunity to practice pitching to a panel of leading industry executives, and more.

Picturehouse Create runs 15-18 April 2026 at Picturehouse Central, Picturehouse’s flagship seven-screen cinema in Piccadilly Circus, London.

The event seeks to “inspire and connect creatives across and beyond the film industry”.

Access to Picturehouse Create events will be exclusively for passholders, capped to protect the “intimate nature” of the event. No experience is necessary to attend.
