
MIA has revealed the programme of panels and showcases for its 11th edition, taking place from 6-10 October.
Across the convention will be over 80 events including panels, conferences, research presentations, seminars, workshops, training sessions, keynote speeches and roundtables.
There will also be networking opportunities alongside film section screenings, with five showcases featuring 44 titles spanning animation, documentaries, television formats, TV series and films, adding to the 62 projects in the co-production market for a total of over 100 projects.
Highlights throughout the event include Indie Voices in a Shifting Industry, which will offer discussion focusing on independent cinema and its resilience within a rapidly changing ecosystem, with producers and professionals from various countries in attendance.
Follow the Money: Navigating Global Film Financing and Packaging will also provide insight into everything from equity financing tools to tax credits, pre-sales to co-productions, and the complexities of international models.
And C EU Soon will present a showcase for European films in post-production seeking international distributors.
In a press release, MIA said: “The 2025 edition presents a rich and diverse programme, with participation from leading professionals and major companies in the international audiovisual sector, along with official delegations from Latin American countries (including Cuba), as well as from Sweden and Canada.”
